Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actress who was best known for her role as Missandei in HBO's epic fantasy "Game of Thrones" (HBO, 2011-19). Emmanuel was raised in Southend-on-the-Sea an area of Essex and found herself drawn to performing arts since the age of three. Her mother was impressed and she began enroling her in dance, singing and acting classes when she was only three years old. Emmanuel was a talented actor, who was developing rapidly. By the end of the 90s, she was playing her role as a little Nala in "The Lion King," an iconic West End musical that was a huge success. As she grew into an teen, Emmanuel began auditioning for film and TV roles. She was able to land her first big role, when she portrayed Sasha Valentine in the British soap opera Hollyoaks (Channel 4 from 1995 to). Emmanuel played the role of Sasha Valentine for a period of four years, before quitting Hollyoaks by the year 2010. Her next breakthrough came three years later when she was selected to play Missandei as the character's interpreter Daenerys Targaryen (portrayed by Emilia Clarke), on HBO's "Game of Thrones."
